Zaakah provides education and support throughout the legal process, including:

  • Informational consultations to help survivors understand their legal options

  • Help filing police reports

  • Court accompaniment and support during critical moments

  • Referrals to legal and mental health professionals

✅ Trauma-Informed, Culturally Competent Case Management

We offer trauma-informed, culturally competent case management—a safe space for survivors to be heard, regain control, and take empowered next steps toward legal justice.

Zaakah also helps provide notice and information though social media, email and Whatsapp about abuse-related lawsuits and developments in Jewish communities, so parents and individuals can make informed decisions to protect their families’ safety.

❤️ More Than Legal Consultation: A Shabbat & Yom Tov Peer Support Mental Health Warmline

And that’s only the legal side. Zaakah also runs a peer support mental health warmline, available every Shabbat and Yom Tov. Trained volunteer listeners provide a non-judgmental, compassionate ear for callers and texters—especially when they may feel disconnected from the support system they normally rely on.

🌙 A Look at Our Successes!

As the Jewish New Year comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what we’ve been able to accomplish together—and what your support makes possible.

Here are just a few of the ways Zaakah has made a difference this past year:

  • Tracked 80+ sexual abuse–related lawsuits involving the Jewish community.

  • Supported more than 25% more survivors as they pursued justice, safety, and next steps toward healing.

  • Grew our social media reach to over 22,000 followers across Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok—driving nearly 500,000 total views.

  • Led protests against notorious rapist Nechemya Weberman and helped gather letters of public support for the brave survivor and her family.

  • Helped inform the public with unredacted documents showing years of financial support for Jewish institutions from sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, and educated communities on why due diligence matters when it comes to the sources of organizational funding.

  • Warned the public about popular doctor Robert Goodman’s relocation from Brooklyn to Lakewood, NJ—following concerns that his license was under investigation in New York due to multiple allegations of sexual abuse.

  • Continued to advocate alongside survivor organizations for the passage of New York’s Gender Motivated Violence Act, which expands survivors’ ability to seek justice in civil court against abusers and enabling institutions—without being blocked by the traditional statute of limitations.

  • Recorded 6 episodes of our podcast, Outcry, exploring cases including Saul Len, Judah Karkowsky, and Nechemya Weberman.

  • Strengthened our Peer Support Mental Health Warmline by adding 20% more trained volunteers, and responded to 300+ calls and texts from people seeking support, connection, and compassion.

💛 But There's More Work To Be Done...And We Can't Do It Without You!

As the year ahead begins, we’re moving into a comprehensive expansion of Zaakah —so that every Jewish survivor who reaches out is met with help, advocacy, and care.

Here’s what we’re working toward next:

  • Increase our service volume by 25% to support more survivors every year and ensure timely, consistent assistance.

  • Upgrade our database to develop a robust, comprehensive tracking system of abusers connected to the Jewish community—so we can continue help keep our communities safer.

  • Continue educating the Jewish public about the realities of sexual abuse and the responses that make a difference—especially for institutions, schools, camps, and shuls.

  • Invest in learning and improvement by strengthening our internal best practices for supporting survivors and the people who contact us for our legal consultation services and our Peer Support Mental Health Warmline.
